An anchored panel that detaches into a portal — configurable whether the detached panel stays in the exhibit's DOM or portals to body. Expand gives it the full viewport.
Detach the dock to give it viewport geometry.

The shell owns its anchor, panel geometry, and optional detached portal.
Expand keeps the same panel state while giving the work the full viewport.
Toggle the portal switch — the detached panel moves between the exhibit's DOM and document body.
