Instrument Rack
The skeuomorphic family as one instrument — channel strips chaining gain into level, computed outputs driving readouts and signal LEDs, a bus gauge, and a power toggle that kills the rack.
Turn a gain knob and watch the channel's readout move and its LED cross the signal threshold. The bus gauge reads the mix; power kills everything. The rack is a fixed-format panel — a mixing desk doesn't reflow — so it scrolls before it clips.
Recipe
knob + fader + readout + led + gauge + toggle-switch
No element duplicates another's datum: the fader shows its input, the readout shows the channel's computed OUTPUT, the LED is threshold state, the gauge is the derived bus level — in the SAME 0–1 units, so the mean relationship reads at a glance. Hue encodes channel identity; red is reserved for clip (clipThreshold), never identity. Power sits in its own MAIN strip because it's rack-global, not bus-scoped.
